Why I teach this

I had the good fortune to learn and grow within a number of world-class systems over the course of my career. Those systems weren't perfect, but they got followed, and that gave me a real baseline for what a well-run contractor management program actually looks like. A recent ASSP survey of construction professionals put contractor management near the top of both current concerns and areas getting increased management attention. Will this work if my organization already has a contractor management program in place? +
Yes. This is built for organizations with contractor management activities already running that aren't getting the outcomes they want. If you're starting from zero, you'll still get value, but the sharpest read comes when you have an existing program to score against best practice.
What if I don't know the answer to some of the assessment questions? +
That's normal, and it's useful information on its own. Patrick walks through what each question means as you go, so you don't need advanced or specialized industry knowledge to follow along. Answer with your best current knowledge about your own organization. Where you're unsure is often exactly where the gap is.
Is this only for safety professionals? +
Most attendees are safety pros, one per company, working in high-risk industries. Line managers and executives get value too, especially seeing where their read on the program differs from what safety sees day to day.
How much of the hour is me actually working versus listening? +
Nearly the whole hour. You're completing the assessment live while Patrick walks through each section, so this is closer to guided work time than a lecture.
Can I get a refund if it's not for me? +
